“Firstly I would like to tell you about your support, I am so glad that you supply us with food and other material. I would like to say, we thank you for your support in the last few years, we thank you for the food that you supply for us in every month end we were able to get some tin-fish, porridge and other things, so we appreciate what you have done for us and more especially we thank you for the blankets, stationery and the school-uniform. Because we never thought that some of the things that we need, we could get, but we are asking you to put us some exam-pads on the primary stationery, so we appreciate everything that you have done for us, thank you, thank you, thank you” -- Numbuyiselo (12)

"I am writing this letter to tell you about myself and when I started to come here as a Heartbeat child. I started to attend here in Heartbeat early in 2004, I did not have anything in my hand, the people from Heartbeat gave me love, hope and peace that I did not have for some time in my life. They supported me with food-parcels, school-uniforms and all other supplements from the project; I did not have in my life too.
They still support me and my family all the way up until now. I thank Heartbeat for giving me love and everything that they did for me. I wish you guys can keep on doing this good-work for those who are like me in the community or in this country.

Thank you very much, keep up the good-work"

"Hi there

This is just an e-mail to say thank for what you’ve done for and other orphans or vulnerable kids. Where can I start?
I was part of the St. John the Devine group in Mohlakeng OVC in Randfontein. My mother died when I was 6 years old and my father when I was only 14 years old. After that I felt alone, but honestly I was not- my siblings were there for me and guess what St.John the devine together with Heart beat was there for me too.

I’ve been part of this project for the past I think 5 years. I used to get monthly groceries and stationery and even school uniform, wow guys! On matric dance they paid and designed a dress for me. The dress was designed by Mam’Nana in Randfontein who’s also working for the organization. I finished my matric in 2006, applied for bursaries without success but by God’s grace and mercy I was offered a leanership in Advertising for a year and obtained a certificate in 2007 from the Imagination Lab.

And 2008 I had nothing to do. And I got a visit from some of the care-workers with of course good news “as always”! I was offered a position in the Mohlakeng OVC as a child care worker, unfortunately I was there for only 2 months and God opened doors and I was offered a position at Vega the Brand Communications School as an Assistant to the Intern Manager but its not a permanent thing and my contract is expiring end of next month so am still looking for something new at the moment.

Sorry guys to bombard you with all this info. But am just expressing myself on how grateful I am with all the help and support you gave me all the years.
I’m proud to say that I was part of the “Heart beat and St.John the devine” both as a child/teenager and employee.

Here with please find my picture attached:

Heres a big THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU FOR MAKING ME THIS YOUNG, BEAUTIFUL AND CONFIDENT BLACK WOMAN! MMMWWWWWAAAAHHHHH!!!! "
