MySchool Campaign

Heartbeat is a proud beneficiary of the MySchool campaign. With more than 1000 business partners across South Africa, the MySchool campaign enables individuals to support schools and non-profit organisations of their choice - whilst doing their day-to-day shopping. By choosing Heartbeat as your MySchool beneficiary, you are enabling the organization to extend our reach to thousands more orphans and vulnerable children who need our support. The MySchool campaign is a quick, easy and cost-effective way to support Heartbeat every day!

Donations In Kind (DIK)

Donations in Kind are general donations of white elephants, clothing, as well as new and second hand household goods. Things that you don’t need anymore can be used in Heartbeat's programmes and could really make a difference in someone's life. Individuals who want to make a "Donation in Kind" can contact Heartbeat's SACIN Manager, Karina Swann at karina@heartbeat.org.za.

For 2010 Heartbeat has created a "DIK" Calendar with different campaigns running according to the needs of children in our programmes during that particular month(s). Please see our "DIK" Campaign Calendar below. If you, your family, friends or colleagues would like to get involved in one or more of these campaigns, kindly contact karina@heartbeat.org.za

Emergency Fund

The purpose of the Heartbeat Emergency Fund is to provide relief for orphans who are facing emergencies or crises. When Heartbeat staff identifies such a case, a request for Emergency Funds is sent to the Head Office in Pretoria. The request is then assessed and if determined to be a real crisis, funds are immediately made available from the Emergency Fund.
Emergency Funds are mostly used in cases of natural disasters (including fires and floods), break-ins, loss of property and loss of life.
When a child in Child Headed Household dies, the siblings very seldom have the means to bury their brother or sister. Heartbeat uses money from the Emergency Fund to ensure that our children receive a dignified burial.
Individuals who are interested in contributing towards Heartbeat's Emergency Fund, can deposit funds in the following account:

  • NAME: HEARTBEAT (EMERGENCY FUND)
  • BANK: ABSA
  • BRANCH: LYNNWOOD RIDGE
  • BRANCH CODE: 333 845
  • ACCOUNT TYPE: CURRENT ACCOUNT
  • ACCOUNT NUMBER: 40 55999488
  • REMEMBER, Thanks to Heartbeat's registration as a Section 18a Public Benefit Organisation (Reg. no: 18/11/13/4841) any donation above R1000.00 (one thousand Rand) is tax deductable. In instances where a tax certificate is required, kindly send the following details through to Heartbeat's Finance Manager so that your particular tax certificate can be issued. Please send your name, surname, contact number, postal address, date of payment and the amount donated to Cindy Vermaak, Manager: Finance at cindy@heartbeat.org.za if you do not send these details through to Cindy, we will assume that you do not need a tax certificate and one would therefore not be issued to you.
